An unfinished download will not resume

If a download stopped with an error or the resume button does nothing, work through these steps in order.

1

Check whether the server supports resuming

Right-click the download and open Properties. If resume capability says No, the source server does not support resuming and the file must be fetched again. That is a server limitation, not a fault in PDM.

2

Refresh the download address

Some sites issue temporary links that expire. Get a fresh link from the same page and add it again.

A sign of an expired link: the file size suddenly becomes tiny, or you get an access error. PDM detects this and refuses to record an incomplete file as a successful download.
3

Lower the connection count

Some servers drop excessive parallel connections. Reduce the number of connections and try again.

4

Check disk space and the temp folder

Make sure the disk has free space and the temporary folder has not been cleared. If it was emptied, the received parts are gone and the download restarts from the beginning.

Windows cleanup tools may delete the temporary folder — exclude it from cleanup.
5

Automatic retries

PDM retries transient network errors by itself, with an increasing delay between attempts. If a download is waiting to retry, either wait or choose Retry from the context menu.
